updates updates!!!

The festive season is around the corner and i wanted to change my template but cant seem to find any nice ones out there...nvm then..

Seems like my photography skills improved a great deal..i mean when comes to take certain angles lah. Last week, i went down town again to see if i can take anything nice (i'm handicapped with just a hp cam u noe?)

This is my favourite shot, taken from a portion of a christmas tree at Ngee Ann city.

Orchard's light decoration..a bit shaky.I have jelly hands therefore i need a steady shot cam.

..i love to tuck in my vanilla ice cream on a boring day to chase the blues away..chocolate is tastier of course..

To celebrate the Peranankan festival..die die must visit the Asian Civilisation Meuseum at Armenian St. I'm not a peranankan but their history/culture facinates me..else i wont be staying at Katong..the true blue distict of the straits chinese..=p

Luckily i managed to reach the meuseum in time else i'll miss this chance!

Free buffet ar!

Not really lah..gotta pay $1 entrance fee first and EAT ALL YOU CAN!

Save $$ for my dinner...hehe

Basically, they served traditional peranankan styled cuisines like mee siam, nasi lemak, laksa, chendol etc etc....not bad!

With the traditional peranankan music playing in the bkground, you can sit and enjoy performances and group dance.Historical exhibits are located upstairs but i cant be bothered to visit the 2nd time. (Been there be4) Stalls were set up selling kebayas at a cheaper price of cos...i'm dying to buy one but need to control my expenditure alittle..=x

Overall..a good week!

THE MAKANGURU IS UPDATED WITH MORE FOODIES!! DIE DIE MUST SEE!

Ridiculous wishful thoughts

I've been thinking alot over stupid stuff like "can i change my fate"? The answer is

I Wish I can do it... Hopefully, that 'wish' will disappear and i shout 'I can do it!'....yet i'm troubled by doubts.

My convers
ation with Josie goes like: (may not be exact..i dont have a tape-recorder like memory)

Me: Should you wait for fate to come or create it yourself?

Jo: I wont sit and wait but I will create the opportunity myself...

Me: Make sense...

I left pondering over this for weeks...dunno 4 wat..maybe its the inner reflections i see within me. I wish to depart for a new life.
Because i am sick of my current life.. .. In other words, i'm ready for a wedding..

Said easier than done, you need loads of financial and crap planning...HAIZ....Pictures and recent wedding events do affect me a little in both ways. I'm happy for all newly weds out there from the bottom of my heart ..
they finally found their happiness..and yet melancholy at the same time...wish it will be my turn..

Memoirs of a Geisha

Those watery eyes...so pretty!!

You know how long i've waited for the movie to be out in Dec 2005? 6 months eversince i bought the book! I happily told myself that i will enjoying this long waited movie in dec but sad enough it will be shown only in JAN 2006! Argh! >_<'' The plot summary, in 1929 an impoverished nine-year-old named Chiyo from a fishing village is sold to a geisha house in Kyoto's Gion district and subjected to cruel treatment from the owners and the head geisha Hatsumomo. Her stunning beauty attracts the vindictive jealousy of Hatsumomo, until she is rescued by and taken under the wing of Hatsumomo's bitter rival, Mameha. Under Mameha's mentorship, Chiyo becomes the geisha named Sayuri, trained in all the artistic and social skills a geisha must master in order to survive in her society. As a renowned geisha she enters a society of wealth, privilege, and political intrigue. As World War II looms Japan and the geisha's world are forever changed by the onslaught of history. Female leads: Zhang Ziyi (Nitta Sayuri) Michelle Yeoh (Mameha) Gong Li (Hatsumomo) etc etc..i'm too lazy to list down. Here are some movie production photos:
Oh! Look at her kimono...wish i can try them on..lolz. Unlike e style of other geishas, Zhang Ziyi is an apprentice geisha (see her hair bun up) and her obi (ribbon at the back of her kimono) is super long meaning that geisha is of a young age.

She's performing for the 'Dances of the old Capital', geishas' seasonal dance and musical performance.

All along i've been watching horror flicks and comedies..hmmm..so lets try something different bah..such as melodramatic scenes and romantic plots..lolz

i'm not alone..

My sunday is as usual, first is a big breakfast which consist of wantan mee, prata and beancurd and lastly to the supermarket for groceries. Well...as mentioned in my previous post, i couldnt put down tt anger which constantly erupts inside me. I started ranting to my dad about how much i've suffered emotionally.

Glad to hear tt i'm not alone...my dad shares the same boat as i am and he made me understand the cause of our situation. Its inevitable. Yeah.

But still i wish for a better life.
