Back to history~

Its been a long time since i upload any pics..feeling darn lazy to do so.. =x

WARNING! WHOLE LOADS OF PICS AHEAD!

Drop down to chinatown few weeks back (its on a saturday)..infact i kinda miss that place, for its nostalgia..good food..slow pace environment..lolz..

Roadside stalls selling some cheap antiques *more like garang guni stuff* right behind Smith st.

Its dinner time! So its ultimately crowded, hot and stuffy...=(

But it has a pretty nice view at night!

I see more roadstalls springing up horizontally across Smith st!

An eye opener! We seldom see a caucasian hawker eh..all dressed up..*not hot meh?*

Our grandparents' favourite confectionary along Sago street and its famous for its mooncakes.

TADA!!!

WOOOOO! Who are they?? Our ancestors? @_@'''''

The neccessities the early immigrants brought along to Singapore.

Wet market in the 60s..

Popular local dishes sold like less than 20 cents at that time..now we're paying in dollars!!

Replica kopithiams during the 60s are commonly seen today...well~ somehow it feels different.

The usual die die must order dim sums...

Magazine store!

Looks interesting..i'm tempted to take..=p..oops..

The tailor shop...

It reminds me of my dad who used to tailor-made his trousers ..just like this..

Printed traditional paper bags

Let's check out the living conditions of the early immigrants..its dark in here and lots of clothings were hung up along the corridor. Its rather cramp to walk thru..roughly the length of 5 feet in width?

Argh! I find it rather scary though..maybe its too dark you see and i forgot to turn on my flash while snapping...The latrine is just next to the common kitchen. oH man!! I wonder how they can tahan...

I aint gonna wash my hands there!

The common laundry area..

Each room size is much smaller as compared to those we live in today...1/4 of ours! Imagine they squeezed in a family of 6 and above those days!!

The common living room.

The stairway...i hate this..cos i felt as if i'm gonna tumble down any moment..

TADA!!
